She had constant distinct purrs that sometimes lifted like a melodious pigeon coos and sometimes dropped low like an old radio with static. She politely tapped us on the arm, asking for pets, while purring the whole time, her coos trilling high and low, her little body almost vibrating with love. She was soft, so silky, and shed no matter how much we brushed her (and she loved getting brushed!)

She was the leader of our triplets and Dexter and Greybeard mourn her with us. She was so rarely naughty but we suspect that she just made the plans for them to be naughty instead. She didn’t wake us for food or scratch at doors, just had her brother and sister do her bidding while she stretched napped and watch.

She was her Dad’s favorite and he was hers. She curled up on his arm, against his legs, on his chest, front paws always slightly moving. She made biscuits constantly. Air biscuits especially in the morning, while getting chin and belly rubs.

She was independent too. She protested when you picked her up or moved her (from your own side of the bed mind you) with little short meows that we said sounded like Penguin from Batman.

She played fetch with little fuzzy balls, but sometimes she’d forget to bring it back close enough. I took to sitting with a giant pile of fuzzy balls so I could throw them one at a time.

She was so smart, so sweet, so curious. She loved us so well, she always come to us when we called her, ready to purr/coo. Her only naughty habit was chewing plastic and bullying her siblings away from their food bowls (and they always let their leader Chatty take their place!)

We will miss her forever, our perfect little Chatty cake. Fourteen years seems like a long time but I could do one hundred and fourteen and it still wouldn’t be enough.
