Collin was the BEST boy a man could ask for. I got him when I was 19, I’m now currently 28 and everyday he was with me. Rather going to car shows, car rides, dog parks, or waiting for me after work, he was always there with a tail wagging and a butt that needed scratching. About a month ago he started having issues with his nose and we made a trip to Medvet which led to medications and an unknown cause at the time. About 2 days later he had his first and only seizure he’s ever had. Got him on medication to help prevent seizures. About 2 weeks later I had a biopsy done on a piece of his mouth thinking that the swelling from it was affecting his brain. He wasn’t doing much, laying around. Not eating. Not enjoying his icecream. None of which was like him prior to the nose issue. Tuesday I got home around 5pm, noticed him just laying there, sorta out of it, and realized he had a seizure. He had around 10 seizures in an hour and I tried everything I could (local vets were all closed and non-emergency) and rushed to Medvet. By the time I got there he was in a constant state seizure and couldn’t stop. Medvet got it controlled but had to keep giving him medication every 10 minutes because he kept having seizures. I decided, if that was me, I was not myself for the last month or so, and nothing was looking up, I would not want to be put threw extensive testing and trials just to gain maybe another year, maybe 2, maybe 3? Plus constant medications and vet visits, that it didn’t seem very humane to me. As hard as it was(I’m bawling currently so I apologize if something doesnt make sense) I decided that it was his time and I didn’t feel comfortable putting him threw so much for so little. Medvet told me about cremation, and I’m glad I did it. He will forever live in my heart and will always be at home where he loved to be. Near his family. You will forever be loved and missed Mr Collin. I hope you find me again in this lifetime. Thank you Faithful Companion and Medvet Columbus employees for making sure my boy got home and for the kind words.

  1. You did the right thing not letting him suffer. I just lost my best friend yesterday and I am horrified that I let them put a feeding tube in her and put her through so much.
