Last week we sadly had to say goodbye to our loving Dante. He was the most cat-like cat their ever was and we are going to miss his handsome face so much.
He was so sweet and loved to just lay in our laps. We will miss him “Fieveling” the windows to look out into the world and the way he would press his head into my chest to give me “rainbow love beams.” We will miss the way he would be so worried any time we would leave and would sit in Emily’s suitcase to try to prevent her from packing and how he would punish Emily when we returned by not snuggling with her, but by laying just out of reach with his back turned, but not really wanting to leave her side. We will miss the way he would look over Matthew, especially when he was a baby and stay by his crib all night. We will miss the way he would be being so sweet and then reach up to knock the glasses off our faces out of the blue. He wanted us to look our best. We will miss his wars against the Christmas trees and wrapping paper rolls. We will miss his bravery in how well he faced diabetes for so many years and was so good about taking his medicine every day for so long. We will miss having to make a big deal sometimes to get him to jump up with us by singing the theme of A Space Odyssey or Emily or how he loved when Emily would dance with him and sing “I throw my cat up in the air sometime…”
We will miss the way his face would light up whenever we walked by as he hoped to get some love. And we will miss those sweet little kisses he would give when we would get real close and whisper “I love you” over and over to him. It’s hard to stomach the fact that we have lost the last of our original trio of babies that were so amazing and so loving to us. It’s already so hard on us not having you around. I know that you know that we all loved you so much.
