Emmy was smart, loyal, and loving. It could take quite a long time for her to warm up to new people, but once she did, she was a friend for life. Her favorite toy was the laser pointer and she loved to eat. Beef was her top choice. Laying around home and relaxing was where she could usually be found, her green chair in particular. She loved belly scratches and the sound of crinkling paper. I will forever miss Emmy waking me up early every morning for breakfast and waiting for me at the door when I came home from work. She struggled with a few minor health problems later in her life and though she fought hard, she ultimately died from a form of blood cancer. She was such a true friend and one of the best parts of my life. Ten and a half years wasn’t even close to long enough.
