Fred was a stray cat that showed up on my porch looking for some food and attention. Overtime I gained his trust with consistent food, water, outdoor shelters, and some canned chicken. I have been caring for two stray cats. One was a little older and showed up first, but Fred taught him how to trust me as he was younger and more willing to interact. I ended up getting them both fixed and Fred got special medication because he has Manx syndrome because he has no tail. He was the sweetest boy with a quirky personality, very playful, and also cuddly. Over time he started coming inside and interacted very well with my frenchie bulldog. He and his friend loved the outdoors and always wanted to go back out and lay in the grass, chase bugs, and climb small trees. Unfortunately, being outside was how he passed, but being that he was stray, this outdoor life was a life he loved. I can only hope that he knew love in the short time he was alive because he absolutely brought that to me and anyone he met. He will always hold a special place in my heart and he will be deeply missed.
