Mittens

  • Date of Birth: 09/11/2012
  • Date of Passing: 05/13/2023

Mittens was a large maine coon mix from Michigan. His fur was a tuxedo pattern and he had bright green eyes. He was stubborn yet affectionate. Mittens was the best cat a girl could ask for. After a decade of faithful companionship to his human and pet siblings, Mittens became sick overnight with Saddle Thrombus and went to sleep peacefully in the morning in his human mother’s arms. Mittens is survived by his human, Anna, his sisters, a black lab named Maggie and a Russian Blue cat named Wallet; as well as his brother, a black cat named Oakley. Wallet will miss licking Mittens’ forehead and Anna will miss kissing his forehead as well. Mittens was chonky- he was part maine coon, very long, and weighed 25 pounds at his heaviest. He once swallowed a mouse whole. Mittens was always willing to watch anyone play video games and he cuddled on his terms. His meow was assertive and his purr was booming. When his human was sad, Mittens was both a pillow to rest her head on and the biggest comfort for her heart. Mittens supported his human through many tough times, and consistently remained a loving, loyal boy. In his last moments, Mittens and his human were listening to Good Life by OneRepublic. Right before he passed away, he looked up and gave his human the biggest kiss on the lips, returning a decades worth of love in one small moment. What an incredible cat Mittens was. He lived a very happy life and was loved deeply by his human and many people, as well as his cat and dog siblings. He was a legendary cat. No one has big enough paws to fill the space that Mitttens is leaving behind. He will always be the goodest boy and we are all thankful for the years we got to spend with his precious soul. His human’s favorite scrunchie was left on his paw so he will remember her smell upon reuniting on the other side of the rainbow bridge. A very good cat lived a very good life and he made all of the lives around him a million times better.

I love you, Mittens. Rest in peace my sweet boy. 2012-2023 🫶🏻
