I had to make the hardest decision of my life Wednesday November 27, and put my sweet boy Otto down after nearly 12 years together. The vet was so kind and went over aftercare options, and Faithful Companion was their partner for services. I sent my boy into their care that evening, and I got a phone call today (Friday Nov 29) a little after 9am saying ‘Otto is ready to come home’. They gave me options on pick up, or they offered to personally deliver him to my house. I raced out the door to go bring my boy home. When my husband and I arrived at the business, we were greeted by warm, smiling faces. Otto was returned to me in a beautiful wooden box with a clay mold of his paw print. Also included were pamphlets about navigating grief and resources if we needed them. I opened the box and there was my boy, in a beautiful silk bag, with his own personal ID tag attached. These last few days have been the hardest of my life, but having my Otto returned to me with such care and love made things a little easier. Thank you to everyone who played even the smallest role in bringing my boy back to me.
