Oreo

Oreo came to us as a sweet little rescue on Memorial weekend 2017. She was about 5ish years old and was in high demand, but we were lucky enough to be chosen to care for her for another 7.5 years. She was sweet and stubborn and set in her ways. She only liked affection on her terms, but she eventually learned to just accept all the love she would get over the years. It was a gradual transition, but we never gave up on her. She loved hanging with and imitating her brother Gizmo, going for walks in the woods and sleeping under the pine trees in the cool beach sand by the lake up north, boat rides, laying on neighbors deck, and riding with me to the office every day … reporting for a day of naps, walks and treats. She went from being my chunky monkey to being so fragile at the end 😢. She eventually lost her hearing and her eye sight, and learned to trust and just love love. In the end, she was care for and spoiled and I know she felt the love. Our hearts are breaking, but we will see her again one day. I’m going to miss your clicky toes on the floor.
