Binx

  • Date of Birth: 08/25/2016
  • Date of Passing: 02/16/2024

Binx the Scottish Fold passed away on Friday February 16, 2024, after a lengthy battle with FeLV and FIV, with other co-morbidities related to his breed. He was believed to have been purchased for breeding, then became a discarded cash cow, and was likely dumped in a nearby Barberton neighborhood, where Julia and Donna began caring for him as their outdoor porch cat. We never really knew his actual age for that reason. He was estimated to be approximately 7 years old. Once he was vetted and it was discovered that Binxy was positive for both FIV and FeLV, the nice ladies continued to care for him outdoors, as to not spread the virus to their indoor cats. This past autumn, Binxy was declining and it was not believed that he could survive a winter outdoors anymore, so I was contacted to rescue him.
He came to live with me in October 2023, and was the most gentle and polite boy that a family could adopt. Despite multiple efforts to turn his health around with bone broth, supplementation, medication and veterinary visits, it was time to release him of his sufferings, and he let me know that by remaining in hiding & refusing to eat during his last couple of days on Earth. Binxy passed away on my chest, in my arms at 19:52 on 02/16/2024 and padded gently to Rainbow Bridge. He will be missed and I am glad that our lives crossed paths and got to share some time with him.

My sweet friend I know you love each and every one of your colony. And know them all by name...he was welcome back to the greens and the most trees he has ever saw.
