Clarkie

  • Date of Birth: 05/04/2004
  • Date of Passing: 06/08/2021

Clark Hills, a.k.a. Clarkie, beloved cat friend, passed away in the afternoon of June 8, 2021. He was 17 years old, and was preceded in death by cat companions Pirate and Jack. Clarkie had a passionate nature and reacted strongly to both the positive and negative elements in his life. Though difficult to get to know and apt to glower (or worse) at outsiders, Clarkie exhibited a quiet charm with his loved ones. He had a low rumbly purr, enjoyed laps on occasion, and liked to initiate interactions with a musical “prrt.” He was a beautiful cat with alert green eyes, a distinctive flag marking on his rich coat, and the tufted ears of his wild forbears. Clarkie had a weakness for catnip toys, and while usually rather serious, would occasionally be possessed of a wild streak and run around the house, stopping at cat trees to flop over and vigorously kick things. He was protective of his home territory and could often be seen at his post on the front steps or guarding the cat door out back. Clarkie had a distinctive personality and is sorely missed. Thanks to the Ann Arbor Cat Clinic for compassionate end-of-life care and excellent veterinary services throughout his long tenure as a cranky client. Arrangements are being made for Clarkie to have a memorial plot at the Whispering Pines Pet Cemetery in Ypsilanti, Michigan along with Pirate and Jack.
