Frankie, a.k.a. sweet boy, crossed the rainbow bridge on January 9th, just four months away from his 19th birthday. Rescued at 2 months old by his first and best forever mom, Betty. Adopted as a playmate for his sister Gidget, to help divert and diffuse her puppy energy with his kind and gentle soul, he soon became the man of the house and was a constant and patient companion to Betty, who loved him more than she liked most people. As a young man he enjoyed chasing the hose, terrorizing squirrels and chipmunks, trampling landscaping, and peeing in leaf piles and snow mounds. He loved to give “sniff kisses” and “do the pirate”, a complex acrobatic display involving growling, rolling and kicking off blankets and pillows. In his last days he expressed thanks and love for the many family members, friends, neighbors and strangers who expressed love and kindness to him, including Dr. William Sigler, his first and favorite vet, and Dr. Rebecca Ault and her team for their stellar animal chiropractic expertise, and Daisy Creek Mobile Vet for helping his loved ones say goodbye. In doggy heaven, he will be joining his first forever mom Betty Large (a rare human invited into canine eternity), his sister Gidget, and his sister Sammi for whom he became a protector and father figure. For the first time in almost 19 years, no doggy footsteps will grace his home, but his spirit will live on forever in tremendous joyful memories.

I will sadly miss Frankie. I had the pleasure of doggie sitting all three Sammi, Gidget, and Frankie over the last few years. I loved them all.
