Lily

  • Date of Birth: 06/23/2007
  • Date of Passing: 03/20/2024

When I was 17 my grandmother who was a very important person in my life passed away in October of 2010. To help me cope with the loss, my family for Christmas adopted two cats for me. Both of which I will be sharing a photo of as they both became such a huge part of my life. Lily was the sweetest cats you could come across. She was already an adult when we got her, at least two or three and had been passed around from shelter to shelter. So when she passed she was between 17 and 19 years old. While she didn’t enjoy being held, she’d tolerate it and allow you to pet her for as long as you wanted. When you didn’t pet her, she’d still bump her head on the couch or your leg and purr just as happy as can be. She had a certain corner in our home where she would like to sit and if Stark laid there she would bop him in the head, though on occasion she’s allow it. She would play with anything she found on the floor, toy or not. She would carry it around and talk to it. Once Stark passed, Lily immediately took over and became my morning buddy. As soon as I’d come out of my room I’d hear the clock of her claws (since she had no clue how to retract them) on the floor heading towards me. She loved being outside, while I didn’t let her out often, when she got the opportunity, she loved it. I will be forever grateful for the companionship she gave me over the years. Since she passed almost a week ago, I’ve continued to think of her, and I will miss her forever. She will always hold a special space in my heart. While I have cried many many tears, Faithful Companion was absolutely amazing once again, they brought Lily back to me personally and told me their sorrows for my loss. I was sincerely moved by their compassion and again read over the Rainbow Bridge information and hugged the box and her paw print. I am grateful for them taking care of Lily and bringing her home to me. She will be forever missed.
