Vince

  • Date of Birth: 01/16/2017
  • Date of Passing: 04/19/2022

I met Vince for the first time in my volunteer capacity at OAR. I fell in love with him and talked my husband into opening our home and hearts to another cat. We adopted Vince 12/24/18 and he became ours. Vince had cardiac issues which required regular vet checks and medication which he was very good about. He had a wonderful care team at Care Center. Vince was not only super handsome and loving but extremely warm and friendly. It was very easy to fall in love with him. He loved his family and would sleep snuggled up against me or place his front legs over mine while sleeping. Sometimes he’d come right up to my face and sniff and let me kiss him before taking a little naps with his head nuzzled into my shoulder. I knew every day with this precious boy was a gift and it could end anytime. He loved mornings , keeping me company in the kitchen while I would fix his breakfast. He loved his naps, especially in the sunshine or on a soft blanket. He was playful and would run around the house like a little jackrabbit sometimes in pursuit of another cat . He also was very interested in catching mice that would make their way into the house under the trash compactor. He was very vigilant about trash compactor patrol… and occasionally a mouse would get captured. He gave us so much in how he touched and enriched our lives. We always said Vince was trying to be a little boy just like our grandson , James. He loved a small bowl of milk now and then and after many years of no liking cat treats … started eating and enjoying them later in life. He was also best friend to my husband , John, who spent time with him while I was working and John would take the cutest photos of him . James, his little boy , was crazy about him and many of his Christmas gifts were Tuxedo cat plushes and art. He leaves behind a brother Clyde and 3 sisters ,Lily, Mia and Phyllo. His boy , James and his Papa, John, and myself. We are broken hearted with his loss but know he’s been well cared for after making his journey across the rainbow bridge. Vince will be in our hearts forever and was the most exceptional cat we’ve had the privilege of loving and caring for.

Vince truly was one of a kind, the perfect combination of loving and playful. I am so grateful to have been one of his many friends while he was at OAR. Thank you Sue, John, James and the rest of Vince’s human and furry family for giving him the perfect home. Sending love and healing energy.
