Zoë

A heartbreaking farewell to our precious Border Terrier, Zoë, who we sent off peacefully to spare her suffering the ravages of HSA. 😞

I rescued her from the shelter as a pup and she rescued me as an adult. Zoë enjoyed great puppy & doggy times, and later in her life we successfully treated her Addison’s disease for six years. She made a full recovery from ACL surgery a few years ago. So she was a trooper!

Zoë was always eager to play, parading out damn near each of her toys during our play sessions. She LOVED to “go to work wif daddy!” and never settled far from our feet or hips. She was so loving, loyal, (and very smart!).

Every furbaby parent thinks of and dreads this day. But I feel honored and fortunate to have rescued her, and gave her every measure and means of happiness, love, and devotion available.

She did the same — only so much better.

Before she drifted away, I told her:
“No more pain for you, my sweet friend! Rest peacefully now. Thank you! Thank you for teaching me about love! Every single one of my days was better with you in it. I’ll love you forever.”

Devastated here. 😟
